How do you remove viruses
If you receive a virus notification repeatedly, although you have set the option Delete or Move to Quarantine, in the configuration, please, proceed as follows:
1. Run a full scan with AntiVir (in safe mode)

I have received a HEUR virus warning. What should I do now?
This is a heuristic warning and it indicates a virus suspicion. You can move the file to quarantine. If you send us this file by email, over the Quarantine, we can analyse it and inform you about the potential danger.
A PHISH detection appeared while doing an AntiVir scan. What should I do?
PHISH detections refer to an email or to your mailbox. If the email could not be deleted, please, remove it manually from your inbox.
How do I know if AntiVir is up to date?
Your AntiVir is up to date, if you have the current virus definition file. This file is usually updated several times each day. This is how you can check, if you have the current updates:
* Start the update. If you see the message "Your program is up to date", it means you already have the latest version of the virus definition file.
* OR:
o Go to our website www.avira.com and under VDF Update you will see the current IVDF version, its date and time of release.
o On AntiVir's main screen, check the Overview- Status section, click on the plus sign next to Last Update and compare the versions with the ones on the website. If they are the same, your AntiVir is up to date. Otherwise, you must update AntiVir.
How do I activate the license? What do I do with the key file?
Copy the license file in the AntiVir main directory (default: /usr/lib/AntiVir/) and then restart AntiVir. Please make sure there are no other *.KEY files, apart from your valid license, in the AntiVir directory.
